In April 2002, five of our children from Nonohana-no-ie Children's Home became freshmen in junior and senior high schools. Here are what they had to say about getting a fresh new start:

"Moving onto Junior High School"
I finally entered junior high. I am always looking forward to after-school baseball practice. I am working hard towards being accepted into the freshman tournament. As for studying, I like to diligently study Math.

"Moving onto Junior High School"
This April, I became a junior high student. I love going to school and am I also enjoy playing tennis. I feel like I'm having a fresh new start. I want to "Gambaru!" ("Keep up the good work").

"Moving onto Junior High School"
My goal is to play in the freshman baseball tournament. And I also want to get all Bs (or higher) on my report card. I am working especially hard on English and Math.

"Moving onto Junior High School"
I was pretty nervous on the first day of school and was relieved to be back home that day. I want to put lots of thoughts into my school career. My school bags are now a bit heavier, but I'm looking forward to working hard.

"Moving onto Senior High School"
My first goal is to make new friends. I'll try not to judge people by their appearances and will try to find the best in everyone. But most of all, it's studying that's important to me. I chose to go to school, so I want to do my best and make the most out of the next three years and grow up.
